{"id":2228,"date":"2013-05-03T10:10:38","date_gmt":"2013-05-03T10:10:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev2.trifibre.co.uk\/?p=2228"},"modified":"2022-09-20T11:32:43","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T11:32:43","slug":"cnc-precision-foam-for-rolls-royce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trifibre.com\/en\/news\/cnc-precision-foam-for-rolls-royce\/","title":{"rendered":"CNC Precision Foam for Rolls Royce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CNC Precision Foam for Rolls Royce<\/p>\n<p>Trifibre received an urgent commission from Scott Aerospace of Bristol, to produce a new design of protective engine covers for the manufacture of the Rolls Royce Trent 700 jet engine.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Aerospace project manager, Scott McPherson worked closely with the foam division of Trifibre to jointly develop this new unique design, which is an ultra-light weight unit, CNC machined to precision tolerances. At 2,430mm in diameter, it is currently one of the largest parts to be produced in house.<\/p>\n<p>The protective engine cover is used during the final manufacturing stage of the Trent Engine where the fan track in the engine fan case is machined.
