The installation of a new CNC router \u2013 a Biesse Rover A15 GFT \u2013 was completed earlier this week. The new machine features a 16-tool automatic tool changer, as well as automatic loading and unloading of material, and will be used primarily for flight case production.<\/p>\n
The automatic loading and unloading will automate much of the flight case production process. Blank plywood sheets are pulled onto the machine and cut out according to the dimensions programmed into a CAD file. The finished panels are then unloaded and are ready for assembly.<\/p>\n
The panels that form a flight case are designed in CAD, along with any cut-outs for handles and latches, and then sent to the machine. The machine then loads a blank sheet of laminated plywood onto its bed and automatically cuts out the panels and holes for the handles and latches.<\/p>\n
The Biesse machine will increase flight case production tenfold. Not only will the flight cases be made quicker, they\u2019ll be made to much tighter tolerances, since the cutting is done digitally by a machine. In addition to the new router, Trifibre has also acquired a Brandt Edge Bander and a ZSK Embroidery machine.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
